Vanish in the haze [Open]
Aug. 21st, 2014 10:38 pmIsaiah was discharged from the hospital the day before last, which he thanks god for. Had it not been for Eli's rescue of food, he'd have escaped just for a decent meal. Regardless, his leg has been suitably bandaged and he's been given crutches to use until he can stand to put his proper weight on it again.
He hasn't seen Cassandra Coombs since the day they got off that godforsaken island, and while all his best intentions tell him to stay away, he's a little sad for it. Now though, that he's been home to the boarding house and managed to shower and sleep and eat, his mind has cleared and he's well aware that he can no longer completely disregard everything that happened before the cruise.
This is how he finds himself in the Siren Cove public library, glasses on and immersed in books and newspapers and archives; anything he can get his hands on from the last 50 years. He needs to know what happened, both when his father first came to this place, and especially what he found the second time. There was a reason Violet Coombs had him done away with, a cover up, and he's determined to find it and bring it to light.
It's odd, the way he can't even track down an obituary for Hamish Ward. He can tell it's going to be a long night.
